On Tuesday, March 1, mountain climber, Jen Loeb, will share a presentation about her adventures climbing the seven highest peaks in the world! The presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Vinton Public Library

American Legion Tenderloin Dinner February 24

Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5 – 7 p.m. the American Legion George G Luckey Post 57 will hold a Tenderloin Dinner. The cost is $10 and includes an 8oz Tenderloin, French Fries, Cole Slaw and a dessert. The tenderloins will be fried in soybean oil in the fryers.

June 18-19 Fishing Tournament to support area Veterans

The Iowa Cat Chasers will hold a Father's day Open on June 18-19 from noon until noon at the Koszia Boat Ramp in Belle Plaine. This is a 24 hour tournament with a 15 fish limit.There will be 3 classes of competition:1. Rod and Reel, $252. Diddy poles only, $253. Rod and reel and diddy poles,$50Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. on June 18 and the tournament will start at noon.

Quest RPG for Teens at the Library

The Vinton Public Library will be offering two events specifically for children. The first is Quest a Roleplaying Game for Teens. The fun happens every Thursday in March with the first  on March 3rd beginning at 4:00 p.m.Quest is a thrilling roleplaying game about amazing people in a world of magic and danger. Everyone is welcome, and you can be whoever you want to be.

Fun Ways to Engage with Your Preschooler!

In partnership with Vinton Early Learning Center, caregivers and their preschoolers are invited to participate in a fun program that provides ideas for reading, music & movement, and crafts!Join in the fun at the Vinton Public Library on Saturday, March 5 at 10 a.m.

CP Friends of the Library Says clean for a cause

At the Feb. 10 Love at the Library valentine concert by The Laid Back Band, Friends of the Library offered party favors of romance novels, chocolates and Library hours bookmarks. Friends of the Center Point Library are thinking of spring cleaning—not theirs, yours.Friends is planning the annual used book sale and realizing that, although we may not be over covid, we’re over the “covid cleaning” compulsion. That means fewer used books donated to the Library which means fewer books for Friends to sell which means less Friends funds for Library programs and projects.

NEXT Sunday, February 27th, from Noon to 3pm, the Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center will be hosting Z102.9’s Gown Town! That afternoon, Z102.9 will open a 100% FREE, no-questions-asked Prom Shop inside Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center, 1770 Boyson Road, Hiawatha, Iowa. All dresses, shoes, jewelry and accessories will be distributed free of charge to high school girls in need of a dress for prom.
